Automotice Engine Warranty


Southern Performance Systems "SPS" hereby warrants that new Engines purchased from SPS will be free from defects in material and workman ship for the period of time stated herein, subject to certain stated limitations.

Description of Warranted Components

Engine: Engine long block assembly, including all internal lubricated parts, i.e. rings, pistons, pins, crankshaft, main bearings, connecting rods, rod bearings, camshaft bearing, timing chain gears, rocker arms, valve springs, valve guides, valve seats, valve push rods, valve lifters and oil pump. Engine block, engine heads, and cylinder barrels will be covered if they are damaged solely as a result of the mechanical failure of one or more of the internal lubricated components specified.

Transmission (Automatic or Manual): All internal lubricated parts contain within the transmission case. The transmission case itself if damaged solely as a result of the mechanical failure of one or more of the internal components contained in the drive axle housing. Transmission accessory items, including but not limited to modulators, governors, electrical controls, linkage, mounts, seals, gaskets, or fluids are not covered by warranty.

Period of Warranty

ALL O.E.M Engines and Transmission sold by Southern Performance Systems are warranted for 12 months (unlimited miles) from date of delivery. Crate engines carry the manufacturer's warranty, normally 24 months/50,000 miles - please check warranty card with the engine/transmission when received. SPS MUST BE NOTIFIED before any warranty work is granted. Crate engine warranties may be handled by the manufactor or SPS, depending on the situation. All other engines and transmissions that SPS sells carries a 6 month warranty unless otherwise stated on invoice.

Engines excluded from Warranty include any engines that are used for race purposes or commercial purposes.

During the Period of Warranty, Southern Performance Systems shall, free of charge, repair or replace parts or engines due to faulty workmanship or material defects from the factory at Southern Performance Systems discretion. A copy of the original dated sales receipt must accompany any part returned for a warranty claim. Parts used in warranty repairs will be warranted for the balance of the products warranty period. All parts replaced under warranty become property of SPS. Southern Performance Systems will only authorize warranty work at SPS facility. Any unauthorized work or labor will not be covered.

In the event of a possible defect in material or workmanship, the responsibility of Southern Performance Systems is strictly limited to either the repair or replacement of the products. Southern Performance Systems will not be responsible for (i) incidental and consequential damages, property damage or personal injury damages to the extent permitted by law; (ii) labor, transportation or other incidental or consequential charges; or (iii) storage or rental-car charges.

General Exclusions from this warranty shall include any failures caused by:

-Installation of parts or accessories that are not qualitatively equivalent to genuine SPS or GM authorized parts.

-Damage to the engine and/or transmission is caused by a part/component that is not purchased from Southern Performance Systems.

-Abnormal strain, neglect or abuse.

-Lack of proper maintenance by the failure to use or maintain proper type and levels of fluids, fuel, oil, and lubricants recommended by the manufacturer. Proof of proper maintenance is the customer's responsibility. Please keep all receipts and be prepared to make them available.

-Accident or collision damage.

-Modification to original parts.

-Damage due to improper transportation

-Damaged caused by a turbocharger, supercharger, nitrous oxide, or similar product, which is not purchased or approved by Southern Performance Systems.

-Customer operates engine and /or transmission without inspecting and filling units with required fluids/lubrications.

-Improper installation of engine accessories or related items.

-Improper installation of engine, negligence, alteration, or accident.

-Improper Fuel System.

-Improper radiator/cooling system.

-ECM/TCM that are altered/modified by anyone other than SPS.

-Competition or racing use including but not limited to, Off-Road, Sand Car, Boat, Air Boat, Road Race Car, Pro Touring Car, and Drag Car.

-Specific exclusions from this warrant shall include parts replaced due to normal wear or routine maintenance; such as spark plugs, oil, oil filter, air filter, etc.

The customer's responsibility under this warranty shall be to:


-Customer should ensure that a qualified mechanic inspects the customer's engine/transmission at time of initial startup and for the first 100 hours of initial use.

-Engine's oil and oil filter should be changed after the first 25 hours of use.C


-Customer is responsible for checking and maintaining ALL fluid levels before and during operation, for regularly monitoring gauges during operation.


-Customer shall change the engine oil and oil filter every 3,000 miles, 100 hours, or 6 months, which comes first; using only Castrol 20W-50 Motor Oil.


-Southern Performance Systems recommends against the used of full synthetic oils or non-detergent oils, the use of which by the customer shall void the warranty.


-Southern Performance Systems recommends using 91-93 Premium octane fuel only.


-Maintain a documented maintenance schedule including the outfit performing the services, corresponding receipt, and dates.


-Give notice to Southern Performance Systems, of any and all apparent defects within 10 days after discovery, and make the engine and/or vehicle available at that time for inspection and repairs at Southern Performance Systems place of business.



Airboat Engine Warranty


Southern Performance Systems (here in referred to "SPS") hereby warrants that new Engines purchased from SPS will be free from defects in material and workman ship for the period of time stated herein, subject to certain stated limitations.

Description of Warranted Components

ALL Airboat Engines sold by “SPS” are warranted for 200 hours or 1 year from date of delivery. SPS MUST BE NOTIFIED before any warranty work is granted.

Should damage occur to SPS engine and need to be returned to SPS. return freight will be paid by SPS. Engine is to be shipped as when first received, intact with all accessories – spark plugs – engine harness and engine control module etc. Engine oil – oil filter and fuel are not to be removed. Engine MUST be boxed correctly for shipping. If after inspection any damage that is found to be fault of customers negligence, then shipping charges will become responsibility of customer.

The customer's responsibility under this warranty shall be to:

-Engine's oil and oil filter should be changed after the first 25 hours of use. Regular oil changes recommended every 50 hours or 120 days – First occur.

-When first oil change occurs, we have shipped with your engine 9 quarts of Driven 15w/40 synthetic oil and oil filter. SPS. recommends using this oil or equivalent for future oil changes.

-Customer is responsible for checking and maintaining ALL fluid levels before and during operation, for regularly monitoring gauges during operation.

-Southern Performance Systems recommends using 90-93 Premium octane fuel only.

-SPS reserves the right to refuse warranty on part and / or all engine damage if found to be using improper fuels and engine oils or like of proper maintenance.

-Maintain a documented maintenance schedule including the outfit performing the services, corresponding receipt, and dates.

-Give notice to Southern Performance Systems, of any and all apparent defects within 10 days after discovery and make the engine and/or vehicle available at that time for inspection and repairs at Southern Performance System.
